Ben Appl periodically curates group art exhibitions. He curated Rare Earth showcasing ceramic artists who used the medium in new and unexpected ways. He explored that theme further in another exhibition Clay:2010. He also likes to give his students chances to showcase their work and often finds opportunities for them to do so.
